  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large egg

Crumble Topping

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter cold, cubed
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a baking dish.

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, and egg.
  • Combine the wet and dry ingredients, stirring until just mixed.

  • Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy as a side dish or dessert!

Notes

For a sweeter version, increase the sugar to 1/2 cup. Add jalapeños or cheese for a savory twist.
