Equipment

  • Large Skillet or Wok
  • Cutting Board
  • Knife
  • Spatula

Ingredients

Stir-Fry Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20 blend preferred
  • 4 cups cabbage shredded
  • 1 onion thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger grated
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce or tamari for gluten-free option
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes optional, for spice
  • 2 green onions chopped, for garnish
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  • Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  • Drain excess fat if needed, then add the sliced onion, garlic, and ginger. Sauté for 2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add shredded cabbage to the skillet. Stir well and cook for 5-7 minutes, until the cabbage softens slightly but retains some crunch.
  • Pour in soy sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir to coat all ingredients evenly.
  • Cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until flavors meld together.
  • Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
  • Serve hot as is or over steamed rice or cauliflower rice for a low-carb option.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a splash of rice vinegar or hoisin sauce. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
